About the Job
Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heli Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation in our Heli kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Orient new employees to the kitchen environment and provide department-specific training.
- Supervise the preparation of Heli lunches and review menu and guest nutritional requirements.
- Make sandwiches and private lunches according to the menu and preferences.
- Prep for the following day and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Communicate effectively with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff.
- Coach and provide leadership to kitchen staff, ensuring the training and development of staff.
- Ensure consistent food preparation and presentation, and provide input for menus and recipes.
- Ensure food is stored in appropriate containers and rotated to ensure high standards of freshness and quality.
Requirements
- University or College Diploma in a Culinary field preferred.
- Certified Chef designation preferred.
- FoodSafe Certification and WHMIS required.
- Two to three years' experience in a similar position.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Ability to frequently bend and kneel, lift moderate weight, and work on feet for an extended period.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation
$25.00 per hour, plus auto gratuities, season completion bonus $1 per hour.
