Halifax Regional Municipality is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Victim Services Volunteers. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support and crisis intervention to victims of crime in our community.

About the Role

As a Victim Services Volunteer, you will be part of a team that provides critical support to victims of crime. Your role will involve:

  • Providing emotional support and crisis intervention to victims of crime
  • Assisting victims with referrals to community resources and services
  • Working with a partner to support victims in crisis situations
  • Attending training sessions and meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Be 19 years of age or older
  • Have experience providing listening support to clients in a human services capacity
  • Hold a valid Nova Scotia Driver's Licence
  • Have reliable transportation to and from the Dartmouth police office
  • Have a good driving record
  • Be computer savvy
  • Be able to attend training, meetings, and events
  • Be able to make a minimum one-year commitment
