The Role of Project Management at Worldwide

The Project Management team at Worldwide Clinical Trials embodies a perfect combination of operational excellence and therapeutic knowledge, all while maintaining a client-centric focus. Our Global Project Leads (GPLs) and Clinical Project Managers (CPMs) adeptly steer project teams to deliver high-quality results, emphasizing the principle of "doing it right the first time."

The Project Management team is involved in every phase of the trial, collaborating with scientific and therapeutic leaders, coordinating across project teams, and providing innovative and proactive solutions. In this role, you will focus on a specific therapeutic area, allowing you to develop comprehensive global operational expertise while benefiting from the exceptional scientific and medical insights provided by our experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall coordination and management of clinical trials from initiation to closure.
  • Direct the technical, financial, and operational components of projects to ensure successful clinical trial completion.
  • Collaborate with major functional area leads to identify and address key project issues, interpret complex data, make informed business decisions, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables align with customer expectations regarding timelines, quality, and costs.
  • With support from Project Management Directors, ensure that all project outputs meet customer and contractual expectations.

Additional Responsibilities:

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the core project team and facilitate their ability to manage the extended project team.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts both internally and externally, including subcontractors.
  • Define and manage project resource requirements and establish contingency plans for critical resources.
  • Ensure successful design, implementation, monitoring, and revision of project plans for assigned projects.
  • Foster effective teamwork among project members and resolve conflicts as necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate communication regarding project-related matters with Project Management leadership.
  • Achieve financial performance targets for assigned clinical projects.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met in accordance with both Worldwide and client expectations.
  • Initiate improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of work performed on assigned projects.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for assigned projects.
  • Build strong working relationships with client project teams and vendors to ensure client satisfaction and operational excellence.
  • Ensure that all personnel assigned to projects adhere to professional standards and established SOPs for clinical research.
  • Manage all aspects of designated projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to manage projects in a multi-office environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CTMS, and EDC Systems.

Experience Required

  • 6-7 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a Clinical Project Management role within a CRO setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience in CNS (with a focus on psychiatry) in a project management capacity is required.
  • A degree in Life Sciences is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management processes and a solid understanding of project budgeting.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing and/or leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
