Position OverviewThe role of Senior Associate, Tax is crucial for supporting the finance and tax functions within the organization. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Tax, the successful candidate will thrive in both collaborative and independent work settings. This individual will be a proactive learner and will contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced team environment, assisting with the daily operations of the Tax department and supporting Cordelio's business functions across Canada and the U.S.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in Canadian and U.S. income tax accounting and compliance processes.
- Prepare documentation for quarterly and annual tax provisions and support external audits.
- Compile working papers to establish transfer pricing charges for related entities.
- Support reconciliation of inter-company accounts.
- Prepare indirect tax submissions and reconcile tax liability accounts.
- Contribute to the preparation of tax returns in Canada and the U.S.
- Assist in the integration of potential mergers and acquisitions.
- Prepare and submit 1099 and 1042 forms.
- Conduct research and analysis on various tax issues, presenting findings to finance teams.
- Identify process improvements and enhance efficiencies through automation.
- Engage in project work aligned with business initiatives.
- Stay informed on current CRA, IRS, state, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance.
- Exhibit critical thinking and the ability to organize unstructured matters effectively.
- Two to three years of progressive experience in accounting and taxation.
- Possession of a professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent; U.S. CPA is a plus.
- Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. tax regulations is advantageous.
- Previous experience with complex accounting and tax frameworks, including U.S. GAAP/IFRS, is beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience in preparing corporate tax returns, income tax provisions, and transfer pricing documentation.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with NetSuite is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to convey complex technical issues in a clear and understandable manner.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%, primarily within Canada and the U.S., including visits to remote project sites and occasional attendance at company facilities and technical conferences.

The compensation range for this position is between $100,000 and $140,000 annually, with the final amount determined by Cordelio based on experience.
