Job Summary:

The Commodity Trader will be responsible for selling and distributing wood-based commodities, industrial/specialty panels, and other building material products. This role involves using local market information, working alongside our Commodity Team, to make sales and purchasing decisions on key structural wood-framing commodities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales and purchasing strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends and make informed decisions to optimize sales and purchasing.
  • Collaborate with the Commodity Team to achieve business goals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a commodity trading or sales role.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
  • Business degree or related industry experience is an asset.
