Gillfor Distribution Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Commodity Trader for our Longueuil, Quebec location. The Commodity Trader's primary function is to sell and distribute wood-based commodities, industrial/specialty panels, and other building material products. This role involves using local market information, working alongside our Commodity Team, to make sales and purchasing decisions on key structural wood-framing commodities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is results-oriented and an effective communicator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Utilize market research and analysis to make informed decisions on sales and purchasing strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Commodity Team to achieve sales and revenue targets.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments to ensure the company remains competitive.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a commodity trading or sales role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of wood products and/or value-added wood products.
