Longueuil, Canada Gillfor Distribution Full time

Gillfor Distribution Inc. is seeking a full-time, highly motivated Commodity Trader for our Longueuil, Quebec location. The Commodity Trader's primary function is to sell and distribute wood-based commodities, industrial/specialty panels, and other building material products. This role involves using local market information, working alongside our Commodity Team, to make sales and purchasing decisions on key structural wood-framing commodities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is results oriented and an effective communicator.

This is an in-person role at our Longueuil location and only those applicants residing in the Longueuil area will be considered.

 Core Competencies: 

  • Excellent people skills.
  • Strong track record of achieving goals and results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess market trends/make good decisions in a fast-paced environment. 

 

Experience / Education:

  • Minimum 2 years in a commodity traders negotiating and customer service-related role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Business Degree, Post-Secondary Diploma, or related industry experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of wood products and/or value-added wood products.
