Job Title: Machine Shop Charge Hand

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Shop Charge Hand to join our team at Echo-Tech Machine & Tool Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our machine shop, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of machine shop personnel, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to plan and execute production tasks.
  • Set up and adjust production machinery and tools, ensuring that they are in good working order and calibrated correctly.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments, ensuring that they are accurate and reliable.
  • Document and report any deviations from specifications and tolerances, and maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, and set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Requirements:
  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years or more of experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
