Nursing Unit Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Nursing Unit Clerk. In this role, you will provide administrative support to our healthcare team, ensuring the smooth operation of our patient care areas.
Key Responsibilities- Transcribe and process physician's orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals as needed.
- Coordinate patient appointments, arrange tests, and receive results.
- Act as a communication link for the assigned area, contacting other facilities and departments to exchange information.
- Assemble and maintain patient charts, transcribing patient data into the health record system.
- Perform reception duties, answering the telephone, taking messages, and referring inquiries as necessary.
- Maintain timekeeping records for regular and casual staff, submitting requests for vacation, leaves of absence, and terminations.
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program.
- One year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
