Head of Teaching Partnerships and Public Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced librarian to lead our Teaching Partnerships and Public Services team at the University of British Columbia's Okanagan campus. As the Head of this team, you will be responsible for providing intellectual and administrative leadership, contributing to the development of innovative and responsive teaching and public services that position the Library as a vital resource for the campus and its diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Teaching Partnerships and Public Services team, providing strategic direction and guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that support transformative student learning experiences and research excellence.
- Develop and implement innovative programs and services that meet the needs of faculty, students, and staff, and contribute to the Library's strategic goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Library and the University to ensure seamless delivery of services and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Provide input into the strategic and budgetary planning of the Okanagan Library, ensuring that targets and goals are reasonable and aligned with the University's strategic priorities.
- Act as a member of the Library's senior leadership team, contributing to decision-making and providing expertise on matters related to teaching and public services.
- Masters-level degree from an accredited program of library, information science, or equivalent internationally accredited program.
- Leadership, management, and supervisory experience in an academic library, with a proven track record of success in leading teams and developing innovative programs and services.
- Experience teaching in an information literacy instruction program, with a strong understanding of curriculum design and delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, with a strong understanding of the importance of creating inclusive and welcoming environments for all students, faculty, and staff.
- Knowledge of public services (reference and outreach) practices, policies, and procedures in an academic library.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire innovation and lead teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Experience developing and implementing assessment activities to support continuous improvement of library services that enhance student learning, engagement, and retention.
