DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a key member of a collaborative healthcare team, the Occupational Therapist is tasked with evaluating patients and crafting individualized treatment strategies aimed at enhancing functional recovery.

Engaging actively in team discussions and routine meetings is essential. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must hold registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario;
  • A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent is required;
  • Certification in the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) is necessary;
  • Experience with inpatient care for orthopedic and medical conditions is preferred;
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential;
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required;
  • A proven record of good attendance is expected;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team is crucial;
  • Initiative and strict confidentiality must be maintained;
  • Membership in CAOT and OSOT is advantageous;
  • Prior experience in an inpatient rehabilitation environment is preferred;
  • ADP authorization for mobility, seating, wheelchair, and splinting experience is a plus;

  • A satisfactory performance record is required;
  • Understanding and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety protocols, including staff, patient, and environmental safety, along with participation in regular training sessions in this area, is expected.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment terms are governed by the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.

Successful external candidates must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the last six months.
