Job Title: Director of Urban Planning and Development
The National League of Cities is in search of a visionary leader to assume the role of Director of Urban Planning and Development. This pivotal position involves guiding the strategic direction of urban planning initiatives and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders to enhance community development.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership in Urban Strategy: Define and prioritize divisional objectives that align with overarching organizational goals for urban development.
- Policy Development and Governance: Spearhead the creation and execution of governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to improve service delivery.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and expenditure management to ensure alignment with organizational directives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate partnerships with diverse stakeholders to promote and support urban planning efforts.
- Operational Excellence: Develop and implement effective systems for decision-making and reporting within the planning division.
- Human Resources Management: Collaborate with labor representatives and oversee personnel matters in accordance with established agreements.
