Sawmill Operations Manager

Riverside Forest Products (2018) Inc. is seeking a skilled Sawmill Supervisor to oversee the efficient operation of our sawmill facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that systems and equipment are running smoothly, and that maintenance and repairs are performed in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:- Operational Efficiency: Ensure that systems and equipment are operating at optimal levels, and that proper maintenance and repairs are performed.
- Work Scheduling: Establish work schedules to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Team Coordination: Co-ordinate work activities with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Reporting: Prepare production and other reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Productivity and Quality: Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Maintenance and Repair: Set up machines and equipment, and oversee the maintenance and repair of sawmill facilities.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers, and provide training on job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
- Safety: Monitor safety conditions and oversee the safety of operations.
- Supply Chain Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies as needed.
The ideal candidate will have 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in sawmill operations and a proven track record of improving productivity and product quality. The successful candidate will be fluent in English and able to work 40 hours per week.
