What is the opportunity?
This role is integral to the largest sector within RBC Wealth Management, specifically focusing on Global Asset Management.

RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) serves as the investment management branch of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). It offers a comprehensive range of global investment management services and solutions tailored for individual, high-net-worth, and institutional clients through various investment vehicles, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, hedge funds, and specialized investment strategies. With over $600 billion in client assets under management and a workforce exceeding 1,700 across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia, RBC GAM is a leader in the industry.

This position involves supporting the Global Asset Management Finance team by engaging in planning, forecasting, financial analysis, and project-related tasks. The role will require collaboration with multiple stakeholders located in various regions, including Toronto, Vancouver, London, Minneapolis, and Hong Kong. The primary aim is to assist the GAM Finance team and business partners in delivering valuable insights and actionable financial information to enhance performance and drive shareholder value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the current year Forecast by aiding in the preparation of forecast and budget presentation materials and financial analyses for senior leadership to facilitate strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of significant business and finance initiatives.
  • Support the generation of essential driver-based reporting on metrics such as revenue, assets, clients, investment teams, products, and fees.
  • Participate in documenting critical finance processes and procedures, including Performance Management, Financial Control, and Financial Reporting activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, and automation, accompanied by actionable plans.

Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Background in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the proficiency to interpret and succinctly summarize complex topics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative team player, capable of working effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to resolving issues successfully.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the Banking or Asset Management sector.
  • Familiarity with Wealth Management products and services.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or EPM accounting systems.
