The Pharmacy Manager is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of all patient-related activities within the pharmacy. This role involves collaborating closely with the Director to ensure the pharmacy's performance aligns with the strategic vision and objectives of CBC McKesson Specialty Prescription Services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of accountability and excellence among pharmacy staff, driving business outcomes, and delivering outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise direct reports to manage daily operational workflows effectively.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy licensing requirements as mandated by the regulatory body.
- Engage in patient care activities including dispensing medications, providing counseling, verifying prescriptions, and managing adverse event reporting.
- Facilitate the recruitment, onboarding, and training processes for new pharmacy personnel.
- Encourage continuous team development through coaching and conducting performance reviews on a quarterly basis.
- Oversee quality assurance initiatives such as monitoring call quality and providing constructive feedback to enhance customer experience.
- Meet or surpass performance metrics and deadlines as stipulated by service agreements for relevant programs.
- Manage compliance with both internal and external service standards, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct thorough analysis to identify root causes of issues and implement process enhancements.
- Collaborate with team members to devise innovative solutions to operational challenges and staffing shortages.
- Cultivate a team environment focused on exceptional customer service and ongoing quality improvement.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, training materials, and reporting mechanisms.
- Ensure the highest quality of care is consistently delivered to patients and their families.
- Provide ongoing feedback to the Director regarding operational, technical, and process-related matters, suggesting corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage employee scheduling and resource allocation to optimize service delivery based on anticipated demand.
- Assist the Director in the development of policies and practices, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
- Conduct daily operational briefings with the Director to address attendance, compliance issues, and resource management.
- Track and report on key performance indicators relevant to the pharmacy team.
- Uphold and promote the principles of CBC McKesson's corporate culture.
- Adapt to perform tasks beyond the standard responsibilities of a Pharmacy Supervisor as required.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
Essential Qualifications:
Knowledge:
- Experience in people management with a focus on enhancing quality and customer satisfaction.
- Familiarity with financial billing processes and accounts receivable management.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong time management abilities.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to instill these values in the team.
- Capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Sound judgment and accountability in decision-making.

Experience:
- Previous leadership experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Must hold a valid pharmacist license.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail or specialty pharmacy is preferred.
- Effective communication skills with team members and external stakeholders.
Communication and Supervision:
- Communication: Collaborate with providers, staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
- Direct Reports: Supervise pharmacists, regulated technicians, and pharmacy coordinators.

Base Pay Range for this Position: $71,100 - $118,500
