Position Overview

Upon successful completion of necessary training and certification through Total Safety Services, the Industrial Safety Coordinator will be responsible for executing safety protocols at various industrial locations, focusing on areas such as Confined Space Entry, Fire Watch duties, and Atmospheric Monitoring. In addition to field responsibilities, the Coordinator will serve as a knowledgeable resource, offering training and guidance to fellow employees. During times of reduced project activity, the Coordinator will assist in reviewing and updating documentation under the supervision of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate training, mentorship, and certification processes for team members
  • Complete all necessary orientations and training programs
  • Ensure adherence to Total Safety Services and client policies and procedures
  • Conduct daily assessments for hazard identification and control measures
  • Comply with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards
  • Review and amend job permits, setting up work sites accordingly
  • Familiarize with emergency response strategies and equipment
  • Support incident investigations and documentation processes
  • Exercise stop work authority when deemed necessary
  • Assist in the training and development of employees
  • Participate in inspections, audits, and compliance reviews

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience: Prior experience in diverse industrial settings

Certifications and Training: Required certifications include H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, and Confined Space Entry

Skills and Competencies: Proficient in English, capable of working in outdoor industrial settings, and possessing strong interpersonal communication abilities

Physical Requirements

Must be capable of performing various physical activities, including sitting, standing, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

Employees may encounter various industrial conditions and locations, including remote areas, and travel may be necessary.

Reporting Structure

Employees are expected to adhere to established protocols and work under close supervision until proficiency is demonstrated.
