Position Overview

As a Supportive Care Assistant, your primary role will be to provide essential support to individuals residing in a Long-Term Care environment, ensuring their safety and comfort through vigilant oversight and assistance with daily living activities.

You will undergo comprehensive training through a structured 3-week in-class program aimed at equipping you with the necessary skills to excel in this role. Upon successful completion, you will have the opportunity to work either full-time or part-time, along with access to various benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure continuous care for individuals who may require supervision
  • Offer companionship and promote the well-being of clients
  • Assist with meal times as needed
  • Perform basic housekeeping tasks when necessary
  • Support clients with personal hygiene and daily living activities

Qualifications:

  • Provide individualized care during shifts
  • Demonstrate compassion and strong listening abilities
  • Show a genuine desire to positively impact the community
  • Willingness to travel to clients' residences within a designated area
  • Availability to work every other weekend
  • Experience with seniors or children is advantageous
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background check upon hiring
  • Previous experience in personal hygiene assistance is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
  • High school diploma or equivalent is necessary
