Poll Worker

Élections Canada is seeking dedicated individuals to work as poll workers during elections. As a poll worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of polling stations and providing excellent service to electors.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and manage polling stations, including setting up voting equipment and ensuring a safe and accessible environment for electors.
- Verify electors' identification and ensure they are eligible to vote.
- Issue ballots to electors and provide instructions on how to cast their votes.
- Count ballots and complete related paperwork.
- Ensure that electors and candidates' representatives follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Be a Canadian citizen.
- Be at least 16 years old on polling day.
- Have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Be able to work long hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Have a strong attention to detail and be able to follow instructions accurately.
- A competitive hourly rate of $18.25, plus overtime paid at a rate of one and a half times the hourly rate.
- A training session of approximately three hours will be given to all poll workers.
