Infinity-Pacific Stewardship Group (IPSG), a leading entity in integrated Forest Management, is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Forest Professional. This position is pivotal in our coastal division, contributing to various forestry initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborating with a team of Registered Professional Foresters (RPFs) on diverse forestry projects.
- Creating and reviewing site plans both in-field and in-office, ensuring compliance with professional assessments and development constraints.
- Drafting comprehensive silviculture prescriptions.
- Understanding and applying BC Forestry Legislation, Regulations, and Policy & Practices in project execution.
- Overseeing project management to meet budgetary and deliverable objectives.
- Formulating landscape-level management strategies for small tenure holders, including forest stewardship and resource plans.
- Executing and supervising silviculture operations, such as planting and maintenance activities.
- Supporting area managers and lead engineers with cutblock layout and design tasks.
- Active membership with ABCFP as an RPF, RFT, FIT, or TFT.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in site planning, silviculture prescription writing, and managing forestry projects.
- Possession of a valid BC Driver's License.
- Field experience in various weather conditions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong technical report writing and editing capabilities.
- Commitment to safety practices.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Experience in coastal cutblock and road design.
- Familiarity with RESOURCES (Cengea) data system.
- Background in silviculture surveying or timber cruising.
- Knowledge of BC Forestry Legislation and related policies.
- Experience in ecosystem identification per BC's Biogeoclimatic Ecosystem Classification.
- Expertise in developing landscape-level plans and rationales.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain organized and manage time effectively.
