Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is seeking a highly skilled Associate Vice President to join our Finance team. This permanent position will be based in Saskatoon, SK, and will require onsite work with flexibility.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction to our accounting teams, ensuring they have the necessary processes, knowledge, and direction to support the long-term vision of our Co-operative Retailing System (CRS).
- Lead the accounting teams to successfully execute and achieve the department's goals and objectives, building trusting relationships and providing guidance to support the development of others.
- Oversee the operating budget process for FCL and the Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC), as well as all aspects of the financial year end, including reporting, stakeholder engagement, and the external audit.
- Develop and present FCL's consolidated financial statements, ensuring presentations meet the audience's needs and are supported by high-quality financial analysis.
- Oversee the annual audit process, including liaising with external audit partners and attending audit committee meetings as the key Finance expert.
- Lead the Retail Accounting team in delivering monthly and annual financial statements for 80 local Co-ops, serving as a key contact for each Co-op and working closely with other stakeholders throughout the process.
- Guide the CRC Accounting team through their deliverables, including monthly operating and financial reporting, capital reporting, and reviewing key compliance reporting.
You will be responsible for 3 direct reports and will advise on their teams, including the Corporate Accounting, Retail Accounting, and CRC Accounting teams. You will report to the Vice President (VP), Finance, and promote a culture of employee engagement, continuous improvement, and innovation with a commitment to quality.
Requirements- 10+ years of relevant progressively responsible experience in financial management and leadership.
- University degree in Business or Commerce (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).
