About the Role

AIG is seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Specialist, Excess Casualty to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating risks for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to ensure profitable growth and risk management.
  • Analyze and evaluate risk profiles to determine coverage and pricing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure our clients receive the best possible coverage.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with our broker partners to drive business growth.
  • Respond to mid-term servicing requirements and account-specific mid-term requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maximize opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities to drive revenue growth.
Requirements
  • Experience in Excess and Umbrella Coverage, including a deep understanding of underlying coverages.
  • Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriting experience is a plus.
  • Strong policy wording knowledge and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in reviewing Casualty Loss control and/or Engineering Reports is welcomed.
  • Strong decision-making skills and a desire to stay up-to-date with industry, legal, and regulatory trends.
