AIG underwriting teams help find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. We're transforming our operating model and reshaping our role responsibilities and career pathways. Your impact

  • Underwrite and structure profitable new and renewal Excess Casualty business.
  • Analyze and select risks using logical and methodical underwriting tools and methods to support decisions.
  • Ensure all accounts are underwritten and comply with departmental requirements.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with our broker partners.
  • Respond to mid-term servicing requirements and account-specific mid-term requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues for a One AIG multi-line approach, maximizing each opportunity.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Grow targeted business and maintain profitability.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience with Excess and Umbrella Coverage, including a full understanding of all underlying coverages.
  • Experience in Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriting is a plus.
  • Strong policy wording knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness for continuous improvement.
  • University degree or college diploma.
  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in reviewing Casualty Loss control and/or Engineering Reports is welcomed.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • A desire to stay up to date with industry, legal, and regulatory trends.
