Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Machinist/Millwright to join the Plant Maintenance team at Lions Gate Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled work at the journeyman level in the installation, movement, maintenance, fabrication/construction and repair of hospital equipment using tools and equipment such as lathes, drill presses, cutters, electric arc and gas welders, grinders, drills, rigging, and a variety of hand tools.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the efficient operation of hospital equipment and facilities.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and hospital staff to resolve equipment-related issues and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Machinist or Millwright recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
