Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Machinist/Millwright to join the Plant Maintenance team at Vancouver General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled work at the journeyman level in the installation, movement, maintenance, fabrication/construction, and repair of hospital equipment.
  • Operate tools and equipment such as lathes, drill presses, cutters, electric arc and gas welders, grinders, drills, rigging, and hand tools.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

  • Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Machinist or Millwright recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
