About the Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time pediatrician to join our existing service at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. The successful candidate will provide consulting care in both inpatient and outpatient practice settings, with possible satellite clinics in Shelburne and Digby. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a fully equipped office and a team of experienced healthcare professionals.

Yarmouth Regional Hospital is a 124-bed health care complex serving the 60,000 people of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby Counties. Our hospital offers a range of primary and secondary services, including diagnostic imaging, dialysis, emergency medicine, and mental health and addictions services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consulting care in both inpatient and outpatient practice settings
  • Participate in call shifts and support Nova Scotia Health in advancing the delivery of pediatric care
  • Offer consultation support to Western Zone, including day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage
  • Be accountable to the patient population in Western Zone by providing clinics and occasional satellite clinics
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health
Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
