About the Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team in the North Zone. As a member of our Intake Team, you will play a critical role in responding to callers and conducting tele-triage of addiction and mental health calls. Your expertise will be essential in determining the appropriate level of service required for each caller, enrolling them in relevant services, and providing brief intervention and solution-focused support when needed.

About the Role:

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-informed and best-practice interventions in crisis situations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and developing treatment plans for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties
  • Providing individual, family, and group therapy sessions using various treatment modalities
  • Collaborating with community-based services to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing, with a focus on mental health assessment and psychotherapy
  • Active or eligible registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, experience working in a crisis intervention or addiction and mental health setting would be an asset.
