Job Summary:

Alberta Health Services is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our rehabilitation team in a northern Alberta community. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will play a key role in coordinating occupational therapy and allied health clinical services within a program or service area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and guidance to students and team members as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide leadership and make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs.
  • Ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area, monitoring care delivery and identifying service needs.
  • Participate in program development and operational planning, representing the department on committees or programs.
  • Make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a northern Alberta rural community.
  • Experience with a wide range of clients from pediatrics to seniors.
