About the Role

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Governance Advisor to join our team in Edmonton or Northern Alberta. As a key member of our Economic Development and Business Supports Division, you will play a critical role in driving our economic development agenda and promoting safe, fair, and healthy workplaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Agency Governance - NADC
    • Develop and implement guidelines and processes for accountability and governance requirements for NADC.
    • Provide expertise, services, and secretariat support to NADC members to enable their mandate as specified in legislation and policy.
  • Parliamentary Secretary
    • Provide secretariat support to the Parliamentary Secretary, including conducting research and drafting materials for briefings and other supporting materials.
  • Design - Northern Development Programs
    • Engage in discussions with other division teams to design and deliver programs and grants relating to or impacting northern Alberta.
  • Strategic Engagement:
    • Coordinate responses to requests for NADC and northern development-related information.
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide strategic advice, analysis, and comprehensive guidance to the Manager, Director, and Executive Director.
    Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • University graduation in Arts, Public Administration, Business, or Economics or a related field.
  • 4 years of progressively responsible related experience or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of government's role, structure, policies, and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
