About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Estate Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank. As an Estate Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers and their families through the estate settlement process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on estate settlement processes and procedures.
- Review and process incoming documentation and correction requests to ensure accuracy and compliance with bank policies and government legislation.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of estate administration, including operational processes and procedures, as well as day-to-day banking, lending, and investment processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of estate settlement processes.
- Identify and escalate unusual items to ensure timely resolution and minimize risk.
- Participate in training and coaching of new team members to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity.
- Contribute to the development of process improvements and technology enhancements to support estate settlement processes.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education and 1 year of experience in customer service, preferably in a financial institution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of web-based applications, including Windows and MS Office.
