About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Estate Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank. As an Estate Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers with their estate settlement needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on estate settlement processes, including operational procedures and government legislation.
- Review and correct incoming documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with bank policies and regulations.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of estate administration, including day-to-day banking, lending, and investment processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve customer complaints and ensure satisfactory outcomes.
- Support the effective functioning of the team by identifying areas for improvement and contributing to process enhancements.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education and at least 1 year of experience in customer service, preferably in a financial institution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice to customers.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of web-based applications, including Windows and MS Office.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supporting all Canadian branches and contact centers nationally.
- Supporting all estate customers nationally.
- Working with a range of products, including mutual funds, registered and non-registered plans, and retail deposit products.
- Utilizing various systems, including RPM SSUI, IPUI, and AS400 Image.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including MFDA and BNS.
