Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist to join our Rigging Team. As a Technical Artist, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining 3D models, skeletons, and skinning for complex characters and objects. You will work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure that deliverables are achieved on time and to a high quality standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement 3D models, skeletons, and skinning for complex characters and objects
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of assets
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools to streamline the rigging process
  • Work with the Rigging Lead to ensure consistency and quality of assets
  • Assume ownership of assets and resolve technical or quality issues that arise

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in cinematic or games production
  • Background in rigging and skinning complex assets
  • Effective communication skills with artists, engineers, and managers
  • Experience with scripting/programming in Python (knowledge of C++ a plus)
  • Expertise with Autodesk Maya
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and animation principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of game engines (commercial or proprietary)
  • Character simulation experience
  • Experience with 3D mathematics
  • Experience with Houdini or procedural node graph systems
  • Familiarity with motion capture (data and acquisition)

Compensation and Benefits

Electronic Arts Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $96,400 - $133,900 CAN Annually, depending on location. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation, sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
