Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist to join our Frostbite Characters team at Electronic Arts. As a Technical Artist, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the tools and workflows that enable our game teams to create innovative and engaging experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, technical artists, and product owners to design and implement new features and tools that improve the usability and efficiency of our Character systems.
- Work closely with the Frostbite Characters team to build and maintain high-quality tools, create documentation and training materials, and educate the Frostbite community on best practices.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to Technical Artists and Designers across EA studios using Frostbite, ensuring consistency and quality in our content.
- Maintain and update relevant domain-related content to ensure it remains accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in game development or software engineering, with a focus on character rigging and animation.
- Proven track record of shipping 2+ games or similar projects within the relevant industries.
- Experience working with rigging or character artists and software engineers, with a strong understanding of game development pipelines.
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python or C#.
- Experience building content with commercial game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity, as well as proprietary game engines.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D art packages, including Maya.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience helping others achieve their best through game development tools and workflows.
- Experience with a diverse range of content creation tools within a game engine.
- Ability to engage and build relationships with multiple teams and individuals globally.
- Experience using Motionbuilder, Houdini, or other DCCs.
- Managerial experience is not required but is a plus.
