Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op Student to join our team at FortisBC. As a Mechanical/Chemical Engineering Co-op, you will have the opportunity to work on various project-related assignments, including designing natural gas facilities and pipelines, engaging with stakeholders, and performing engineering assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Design natural gas facilities and pipelines, including stress analysis and equipment sizing and selection.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with various internal and external stakeholders and team members in completion of capital projects.
- Engineering Assessments: Perform engineering assessments, identify opportunities and deficiencies, and complete written reports/proposals for existing and proposed infrastructure.
- Research and Development: Research and develop design standards.
- Process Improvement: Recommend process improvements and ensure compliance to company and industry codes and standards.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering Student - Third or Fourth year preferred.
- Co-op Program: Enrolled in a Co-op program.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license.
Additional Qualifications
- CAD Applications: Experience or knowledge with CAD applications and competence in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Report Writing: Experience with report and memo writing in a corporate environment.
- Piping Systems: Experience with interpreting mechanical and P&ID drawings of piping systems.
- Public Speaking: Competent public speaker.
