Engineering Co-op, Mechanical/Chemical Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op Student to join our team at FortisBC. As a Mechanical/Chemical Engineering student, you will have the opportunity to work on various project-related assignments, including designing natural gas facilities and pipelines, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and performing engineering assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop natural gas facilities and pipelines, including stress analysis and equipment sizing and selection.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to complete capital projects.
- Conduct engineering assessments, identify opportunities and deficiencies, and complete written reports and proposals.
- Research and develop design standards.
- Recommend process improvements and ensure compliance with company and industry codes and standards.
- Bachelor of Engineering Student - Third or Fourth year preferred.
- Enrolled in a Co-op program.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience or knowledge with CAD applications and competence in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with report and memo writing in a corporate environment.
- Experience with interpreting mechanical and P&ID drawings of piping systems.
- Competent public speaker.
