Overview: Become an integral part of our team at PHSA, where you will provide essential administrative assistance within the Ambulatory Care unit. As a Unit Clerk, your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks including managing appointment schedules, maintaining patient records, transcribing medical orders, and gathering statistical information. This role demands excellent communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Primary Duties:
- Serve as the first point of contact by welcoming patients and visitors, guiding them to the correct locations, and addressing their questions
- Coordinate patient appointments and follow-up sessions utilizing a computerized scheduling system
- Prepare and verify patient records to ensure the accuracy of details
- Transcribe orders from healthcare providers for necessary procedures
- Compile and analyze statistical data using electronic tools
- Execute clerical tasks such as operating office equipment and managing supply orders
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 and a Nursing Unit Clerk Program
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members
- Proficiency in various computer software applications
