Job Opportunity

Athabasca University's Faculty of Health Disciplines is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure-track position as Assistant/Associate Professor in the Master of Health Studies/Master of Nursing-Generalist Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow a sustained research program in a key strategic area, including securing external funding and disseminating research findings through various channels.
  • Teach and evaluate undergraduate and graduate-level courses in nursing and health studies, with a focus on developing innovative and effective educational experiences.
  • Contribute to the life of Athabasca University and the community, through service and engagement in various capacities.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD and be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse in Alberta. They should have three to five years of relevant academic and/or discipline-related experience, a developing research program, and a strong commitment to growing their skills and contributions across research, teaching, and service.

The candidate should be an innovative and effective educator, with experience in the online learning environment, and have demonstrable potential to develop a strategic, credible, and agile research program. They should also be able to work respectfully and effectively as part of larger teams, and be open to developing their skills and potential beyond areas of past or ongoing strength or success.
