Deerhaven Farms is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of General Farm Worker. This position involves a variety of responsibilities centered around livestock management and farm operations.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
The work setting is primarily in a rural area, often in remote locations. Employees will be provided with room and board, although relocation costs will not be covered by the employer. Candidates must be willing to relocate.
Job Responsibilities- Care for and handle various livestock.
- Monitor and report on the health of animals.
- Perform grooming activities for animals.
- Maintain and track feed inventory.
- Feed and tend to animals daily.
- Execute general farm duties as required.
This role is physically demanding and involves:
- Repetitive tasks and handling heavy loads.
- A combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Standing for extended periods and performing bending, crouching, and kneeling activities.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- A quick learning ability.
On-site housing options are available. The position requires a commitment of approximately 55 hours per week.
