Overview: Are you enthusiastic about engineering within the railway sector? Do you thrive in dynamic environments, working with diverse systems and machinery? We are in search of a mechanical engineer who will be integral to a multifaceted team, dedicated to improving the performance and reliability of mechanical systems in our train operations.
Your main objective will be to prolong the operational lifespan of our railway assets, ensuring the safety of passengers and the reliability of our fleet. You will take charge of implementing modifications in our passenger vehicles and locomotives, as well as in our refurbishment initiatives, utilizing your theoretical expertise, industry best practices, and hands-on experience.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation (BOM, schematics, 3D models, procedures, technical specifications, etc.);
- Enhance the performance and dependability of mechanical systems, diagnose failure causes, and propose design enhancements;
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to assess maintenance requirements and revise maintenance schedules;
- Ensure safety considerations are integrated throughout the design phases;
- Act as a point of contact for contractors, workshop staff, and other stakeholders;
- Review technical submissions from consultants, contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers, and engage in acceptance testing.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering;
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
- Registered member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
- Hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, including project management, component and system design, technical issue analysis (mechanical and electromechanical), innovative solution development, integration of new technologies, and cost estimation in an industrial setting;
- Familiarity with system reliability concepts and maintenance strategies;
- Proficient in CAD software, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD;
- Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite;
- Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal (English and French);
- Knowledge of components within rolling stock systems, such as doors, stepboards, air and water conduits, etc. (preferred).

- Emotional Intelligence: Proficient in managing interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically;
