Overview
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for adhering to all relevant operational protocols, conducting thorough inspections and testing, and accurately documenting inspection results.

Shift Details: Sunday - Thursday 11:00PM-7:00AM
Salary: $23.93/hour (includes a 7% shift premium for night shifts, with a base salary of $22.36/hour)

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct receiving inspections of incoming materials
  • Generate inspection documentation for production as necessary
  • Execute all required in-process inspections within the Extrusion, Fabrication, and Molding Departments, including first-off inspections, OD/ID PI Tape measurements, caliper and shadowgraph assessments, hardness testing, kg/ft measurements, silicone weight verification, and visual inspections, in compliance with specifications outlined in drawings, inspection sheets, and quality operating procedures
  • Perform final product inspections
  • Carry out compression set tests, tensile and elongation assessments, tear resistance evaluations, specific gravity tests, tensile set, and permanent set examinations, among others
  • Conduct Water/Oil Absorption tests, Compression Curve tests, and additional assessments as required
  • Adhere to the procedure for managing non-conforming products
  • Complete all necessary records (test reports, inspection sheets, etc.) thoroughly and clearly
  • Undertake other specialized tasks as needed
Health and Safety Duties
  • Comply with all applicable federal, provincial, and local health and safety regulations
  • Report all incidents, regardless of severity
  • Operate in accordance with the occupational health and safety policy and all site-specific health and safety guidelines
  • Notify the Quality Manager of any unsafe conditions
  • Utilize all required personal protective equipment
  • Review and adhere to all health and safety protocols
  • Follow all non-smoking policies
  • Ensure safety devices remain operational
  • Avoid engaging in unsafe work practices
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • Effective communication skills with proficiency in reading and writing English
  • Strong mathematical abilities
  • Basic computer literacy
Complexity and Judgment
  • Regularly face complex issues that necessitate analytical judgment to evaluate and identify alternative solutions when established procedures may not be applicable
  • Work involves non-routine tasks that typically require varied and unrelated methods within authorized parameters
Supervisory Role

No supervisory responsibilities.

Interactions

Engages daily with the Quality Manager, QA Lead Hand/Lab Technician, Production Supervisors, Lead Hands, and Operators.

Work Environment

The position entails spending approximately 80% of the time on the production floor and 20% in the laboratory.
