Overview
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for adhering to all relevant operational procedures, conducting thorough inspections and testing, and accurately documenting test and inspection outcomes.

Shift Details: Sunday - Thursday 11:00PM-7:00AM
Compensation: $23.93/hour (includes a 7% shift premium for night shifts + $22.36/hour as base salary)

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct incoming inspections of materials
  • Generate inspection documentation for production as necessary
  • Execute all required in-process inspections in the Extrusion, Fabrication, and Molding Departments, including initial inspections, OD/ID PI Tape measurements, caliper and shadowgraph evaluations, hardness assessments, kg/ft measurements, silicone weight checks, visual inspections, etc., in compliance with specifications outlined in drawings, inspection documentation, and quality operating procedures
  • Carry out final product inspections
  • Perform various tests including compression set, tensile and elongation, tear resistance, specific gravity, tensile set, and permanent set tests
  • Conduct Water/Oil Absorption tests, Compression Curve tests, and others as needed
  • Adhere to the procedure for managing non-conforming products
  • Complete all necessary records (test reports, inspection sheets, etc.) with clarity and precision
  • Engage in other specialized tasks as required
Health and Safety Responsibilities
  • Comply with all applicable federal, provincial, and local health and safety regulations
  • Report all incidents, regardless of severity
  • Operate in accordance with the occupational health and safety policy and all site-specific health and safety protocols
  • Notify the Quality Manager of any unsafe conditions
  • Utilize all required personal protective equipment
  • Review and adhere to all health and safety procedures
  • Follow all non-smoking policies
  • Ensure safety devices remain operational
  • Avoid engaging in unsafe work practices
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to read and write in English
  • Strong mathematical abilities
  • Proficient in computer usage
Complexity and Judgment
  • Regularly encounters complex problems requiring analytical judgment to determine alternative actions when established procedures may not apply
  • Work involves non-routine tasks that typically necessitate diverse and unrelated methods within authorized limits
Supervisory Responsibility

No supervisory duties.

Daily interactions with the Quality Manager, QA Lead Hand/Lab Technician, Production Supervisors, Lead Hands, and Operators.

Working Conditions

The role involves spending approximately 80% of the time on the production floor and 20% in the laboratory.
