Quality Assurance Inspector

Overview
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for adhering to all relevant operational protocols, conducting thorough inspections and evaluations, and accurately documenting inspection results.
Shift Details: Sunday - Thursday 11:00PM-7:00AM
Pay Rate: $23.93/hour (includes a 7% shift premium for night shifts + $22.36/hour as base salary)
- Conduct incoming material inspections
- Generate inspection documentation for production as necessary
- Carry out all mandated in-process inspections within the Extrusion, Fabrication, and Molding Departments, including initial inspections, OD/ID PI Tape measurements, caliper and shadowgraph assessments, hardness testing, kg/ft measurements, silicone weight evaluations, visual inspections, etc., in accordance with specifications outlined in drawings, inspection documentation, and quality operating procedures
- Execute final product inspections
- Perform various tests including compression set, tensile and elongation, tear resistance, specific gravity, tensile set, and permanent set tests
- Conduct Water/Oil Absorption tests, Compression Curve tests, and other evaluations as required
- Adhere to procedures for managing non-conforming products
- Complete all necessary records (test reports, inspection sheets, etc.) thoroughly and clearly
- Engage in other specialized tasks as needed
- Comply with all applicable federal, provincial, and local health and safety regulations
- Report all incidents, regardless of severity
- Operate in accordance with the occupational health and safety policy and all site-specific health and safety protocols
- Notify the Quality Manager of any unsafe conditions
- Utilize all required personal protective equipment
- Review and adhere to all health and safety procedures
- Follow all non-smoking policies
- Ensure safety devices remain operational
- Avoid engaging in unsafe work practices
- Effective communication skills with proficiency in reading and writing English
- Strong mathematical abilities
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to frequently encounter complex issues that necessitate analytical judgment and the identification of alternative solutions when established procedures may not apply
- Work involves non-routine tasks that typically require diverse and unrelated methods within authorized parameters
No supervisory responsibilities.
InteractionsRegularly collaborates with the Quality Manager, QA Lead hand/Lab Technician, Production Supervisors, Lead Hands, and Operators.
Work EnvironmentThe role involves spending approximately 80% of the time on the production floor and 20% in the laboratory.
