Job Title: Addictions Counselor III

At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Addictions Counselor III. This exciting opportunity is part of our Addictions and Mental Health Access 24/7 program, which aims to provide a centralized and integrated intake service at the Edmonton Community Health Hub North.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Care Manager and under the direction of the Program Manager for Urgent Services, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support services to individuals and families affected by addictions and mental health issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring a client-centered approach that addresses the unique needs and goals of each individual.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families, promoting healthy coping mechanisms and strategies for managing addiction and mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and healthcare providers to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as social work, counseling, or psychology.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in addictions and mental health services.
  • Strong knowledge of addiction and mental health theories, models, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
