About the Role

The Green Party of Ontario is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Communications and Strategic Planning to lead our communications team and develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a communications strategy that aligns with the party's goals and objectives.
  • Messaging and Content Development: Create and disseminate key messages, press releases, statements, blogs, op-eds, and other content to various audiences.
  • Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with provincial and regional media outlets, and manage issues and crises as they arise.
  • Team Management: Supervise, coach, and motivate the communications team to achieve their goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in a senior communications role, preferably in a political or public affairs context.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective communications strategies.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Passion for social and environmental change in Ontario.
