Lead Marketing and Communications Strategist

Optimum General Inc.Position Overview

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies aimed at fostering profitable growth and enhancing relationships with brokers within the Canadian P&C insurance sector. Reporting directly to the Vice President, the individual will collaborate closely with business development teams across various branches, as well as with key departments at the head office, including actuarial and IT, to produce press releases, organize events, and coordinate special projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop, edit, translate, and disseminate communications tailored for brokers and clients.
  2. Assist diverse teams in identifying marketing and communication needs, devising strategic plans, and overseeing their execution.
  3. Manage and oversee multiple communication platforms.
  4. Plan and execute both internal and external events.
  5. Maintain an inventory of promotional materials.
  6. Collaborate with the corporate communications team of the parent company to enhance brand visibility among various stakeholders.
  7. Engage in various committees for events such as annual celebrations and employee recognition days.
  8. Oversee the maintenance of websites, broker portals, and intranet, contribute to the company’s LinkedIn presence, and monitor brand reputation and market trends.
  9. Contribute expertise to additional projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. A minimum of five years of experience in marketing and corporate communications.
  2. Experience in planning and executing marketing and communication initiatives within the damage insurance sector is preferred.
  3. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Forms, and PowerPoint.

  2. Proven ability to independently manage projects from inception to completion while balancing multiple priorities.
  3. Strong relationship-building capabilities.
