Key Responsibilities- Provide vision and leadership to the school, ensuring alignment with the College's strategic direction and academic plans.
- Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of the school's budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and management.
- Ensure that all programming and projects meet current and emerging sector and community labour market needs, while maintaining high-quality academic standards.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, including performance management goals and objectives, to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Build and sustain effective partnerships with industry, government, and educational institutions, promoting community relations and advancing the school's reputation.
- Champion a culture of innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration, driving the school's academic and applied research plans forward.
- Establish an annual operational plan for the school, ensuring alignment with the College's strategic direction and academic plans.
- Promote the unique vision, mission, image, and values of the school to faculty, colleagues, business, industry, government, students, and the general public.
- Serve as a member of the Senior Academic Committee (SAC), Fee, and other governance committees, contributing to the College's decision-making processes.
- A graduate degree in a related discipline, with a combination of 7 years of education and recent, relevant senior leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success as a dynamic, innovative leader at a senior level, with a commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, anti-racism, social justice, diversity, and creating inclusive communities.
- Human resource management experience, including supervisory experience in an academic, unionized environment.
- Experience in organizational planning, project and change management, and financial management at the corporate or institutional level.
- Experience implementing strategic plans, including performance management goals and objectives.
- A collaborative management style, with excellent interpersonal and group facilitative skills, and the ability to initiate and develop effective partnerships and alliances.
- Innovative and creative problem-solving skills, with a commitment to quality, service, and accountability.
- Experience developing and implementing formal staff training or academic programs, with a student-centered approach to learning and a commitment to the philosophies of adult education and continuous learning.
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning, and continuous improvement.
