Worship Leader Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Worship Leader to join our team at Thisisvillagechurch. As a key member of our Worship Arts team, you will be responsible for coordinating, leading, and creatively planning worship elements in services that are compelling, meaningful, and Jesus-focused.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to and implement the creative vision for in-service elements relating to Worship Arts.
  2. Collaborate with the Worship Production team to develop a team of dynamic and unique musicians who are passionate about serving the local church with their art and leading people into a focused time of corporate worship.
  3. Select songs from the approved list that are fresh, engaging, and impactful.
  4. Work closely with the Site Pastor to ensure all responsibilities are completed in a purposeful, strategic, and focused manner that points people to Jesus.
  5. Act as a servant by inviting, discipling, training, and equipping others to serve.
  6. Ensure all responsibilities are produced, promoted, and led with a high level of innovation and excellence, honouring God at the highest level.
  7. Maintain an openness to being a learner by committing to continuous spiritual, professional, and self-development.
Qualifications:
  1. Philosophically aligned with Thisisvillagechurch's Mission, focus, and strategy.
  2. Fulfills character qualifications as highlighted in 1 Timothy and Titus.
  3. Models a life and expression of Worship on and off the stage.
  4. Pursues a deeper relationship with Christ and greater spiritual growth through prayer, the gospel, and community.
  5. Demonstrates a high level of vocal skill.
  6. Has an in-depth theological appreciation of worship and an understanding of basic church doctrines.
