As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and supplies, supporting our kitchen operations, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and Processing Deliveries:
    • Inspect incoming shipments for quality, safety, and accuracy against purchase orders.
    • Record all deliveries in inventory management software, ensuring up-to-date and precise inventory records.
    • Properly store inventory in designated areas, rotating stock to prioritize older items.
    • Transfer inventory to required storage and multi-unit food and beverage locations on-site.
    • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
    • Communicate with the leadership team regarding any discrepancies or changes in inventory records or invoices.
  • Kitchen Prep Support:
    • Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, preparing meats, and portioning ingredients.
    • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines meticulously during prep work.
    • Support line cooks during service to ensure timely and efficient food preparation.
  • Fridge Rotation and Food Storage:
    • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for fridge rotation to ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) practices are maintained.
    • Monitor and manage inventory in refrigeration units, ensuring proper storage temperatures and conditions.
    • Conduct regular checks of refrigerated items to ensure they are within safe consumption dates and discard any expired or spoiled products.
    • Maintain accurate records of food storage and rotation, adhering to food safety handling practices to prevent contamination and spoilage.
  • Inventory and Ordering:
    • Inventory Management:
    • Assist with daily and weekly inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
    • Monitor inventory levels, reporting shortages or discrepancies to the leadership team.
    • Aid in the ordering process by communicating inventory needs and changes to the leadership team.
  • General Duties:
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment across all areas, including prep and receiving.
    • Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
    • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail, diligence, and the capacity to maintain accurate records and inventory counts.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Team player with effective communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • A valid driver's license is an asset.
  • Flexible scheduling availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
