The Changing Gears Program

Our Changing Gears program is a transformative initiative designed to provide self-identifying women with the skills and resources needed to succeed in the trucking industry. This free, government-funded program offers comprehensive training, mentorship, and job placement support.

Career Advisor Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Career Advisor to join our Changing Gears team. In this role, you will play a vital part in guiding participants through their journey towards successful careers in the trucking sector.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate engaging workshops on employability skills and job search strategies, utilizing both online and in-person platforms.
  • Provide ongoing program support and coaching to participants throughout their training journey.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with participants to monitor progress and address any challenges.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and submit timely reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist clients with resume writing, cover letter preparation, and interview skills development.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure the smooth operation of the Changing Gears program.
Qualifications:
  • A genuine passion for empowering women in male-dominated industries.
  • Experience in facilitation, career counseling, or job coaching (2-5 years preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
