As a Food Services Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing nourishing meals and fostering a warm and supportive environment for residents. Your responsibilities will encompass meal preparation, inventory management, maintaining sanitation standards, and assisting residents in developing their culinary skills.

This position offers the opportunity to facilitate engaging cooking workshops and community kitchen activities, all while delivering trauma-informed support to our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare nutritious meals for a diverse group of individuals.
  • Manage food inventory effectively to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Assist residents in developing their cooking skills through hands-on instruction and guidance.
  • Facilitate engaging cooking workshops and community kitchen activities.
  • Provide compassionate and trauma-informed support to residents.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a diploma in Community Social Services or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of two years of experience supporting women and children facing challenging circumstances.
  • Demonstrate experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a commercial setting.
  • Possess knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Ability to follow recipes and cook for a large group.
  • Experience with commercial kitchen equipment is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for conflict resolution and group facilitation.
  • Customer service-oriented with a compassionate approach.
