Position SummaryUnder the general oversight of the Health Services Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) is tasked with delivering professional nursing care to patients, particularly those with complex and unpredictable health conditions. Responsibilities include:
- Providing independent nursing services.
- Administering prescribed medical treatments.
- Taking a leadership role within the healthcare team.
- Facilitating patient care coordination and discharge processes.
The RN is expected to embody the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the healthcare region/facility/unit.
Experience Requirements- Preferred: Current experience in an Intensive Care Unit.
- Required: A satisfactory employment history.
- Mandatory: Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Required: Successful completion of the WCCNEP Program or an equivalent ICU training program.
- Must maintain and provide proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
- Preferred: Active involvement in professional nursing associations.
- Current BLS Health Care Provider certification is required.
- Knowledge of:
- Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses.
- Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
- Scope of practice as defined in the Regulated Health Professions Act.
- Facility policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Nursing care relevant to the clinical area.
- Legislated acts related to health information and safety.
- Roles and responsibilities within the healthcare team.
- Principles of delegation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Preference for candidates with proficiency in Indigenous languages and knowledge of Indigenous customs.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to prioritize patient care effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple demands simultaneously.
- Commitment to self-development and adaptability in dynamic situations.
- Proficiency in computer applications and software.
- Moderate to heavy physical effort is required.
